Weekend Adventure: Forest Park, Cathedral Park, Washington Park

Ohhhh, hey! I didn't forget about y'all! This past week has been kinda nutty. So what I didn't mention a week (two weeks?) ago is that on the day after my one month anniversary at my new job I got both a raise and a promotion! Yup, I just kinda got done training at my original job and now I have been training at my newest job! It's taken up a lot of mental time and then I've been busy with stuff after work and just haven't had a chance to blog, but I have lots of ideas for blog posts! Just need to sit down and get them out.

This is what Jonathan, Artoo, and I did this past weekend!

We went to three different parks here in Portland. It was pretty awesome! It was our second visit to Forest Park, my first visit to Cathedral Park, and my first official visit to Washington Park (I'm not counting going to the Hoyt Arboretum, the Zoo, or the Memorial, as those are all parts of the park and I had never been to the PARK part of the park - does that make sense? I hope so.).

It was fairly rainy and was a Sunday, so there weren't a whole lot of people out, which was nice. We started at Forest Park and got in a good four mile hike!

After Forest Park we were all pretty muddy and Artoo needed a break, so we went to Burgerville for a quick bite to eat and then headed to Cathedral Park, as it isn't far from Forest Park. It was so beautiful and there were so many birds to look at!

After Cathedral Park we decided to make *one* more stop on our way home. I am a huge Lewis & Clark nerd, so Jonathan wanted to take me to see the monument erected at Washington Park in honor of the centennial of the discovery of the northwest.

After this visit we were all wet and hungry and it was time to go home! It was such a fun day and I'm happy that we hit up THREE Portland parks!

    1. Aw, thank you! It was so pretty! I can't wait to go back again and explore a bit more. It was pretty rainy and we were hungry, so we weren't there as long as I would have liked to have been. Go there, go!
