A Country Weekend With the Family
This weekend was AWESOME.
We had a fair balance of activity on Saturday pared with low-key, mellow relaxing on Sunday. It really was perfect.
On Saturday, Jonathan's mom, dad, him, Artoo, and I all hiked to the beaver pond. I have heard of the beaver pond since before Jonathan and I got together. It was always this "place" not far from the house but a bit of a hike. I vowed that someday I would get there.
Friends, this was that weekend.
It was a little over a mile to get to the beaver pond, up through the forest, through some scrabbly bushes, and then along a logging road. The view at the end was great. We sat in the sun (low 60s that day!) and relaxed. Artoo got to eat two apple cores. It was a great afternoon.
The next day I woke up and started reading, eventually finishing my book. I didn't do much else but read on Sunday. It was a great day. It was nice to sit and rest and not rush around. It was nice to have a break from my phone or computer. It was just awesome.
This was our weekend...

can't wait for hiking season to be in full swing!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, to me, hiking is best now while it's not crazy hot! I would rather hike in overcast or cooler weather any day!
DeleteThis is BEAUTIFUL!! I really love the photos of Artoo. His face is the best. It's like he's enjoying it, but doesn't want everyone to know how excited he is!! :) Sounds like an amazing, relaxing weekend. You deserved it!!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! It was just really, really great to have some time with Jonathan's family!
