A Busy Weekend, A Good Weekend
Whew! Is it Monday already? I didn’t get any days off the
past two days! It’s been go go go but, thankfully, that’s about over with. It
was a fun weekend but I didn’t have any free time to myself. This is what I did…
After work Friday I spent the night with Chipper, my older
dog friend who I haven’t seen since Christmas. I’ve missed her! She is such a
sweetie. I gave her some brushies on Saturday morning. She tolerated getting
brushed, but she really wasn’t thrilled with having her picture taken!
This piece of artwork is hanging in my friends’
entryway. I love seeing the new messages that get written up there! They
recently had twins, Gus and Bee (short for Beatrix), who I’m pretty sure are
the cutest newborns ever. And I don’t throw that phrase around much, so you can
imagine their cuteness. This weekend was the first overnight with the babies
and I hear it went well! I love hanging out with the Chips when I have a
chance, so I’m glad things went smoothly for everyone.
This weekend was the opening weekend for the
Portland Saturday Market and I was right there with it at Luna! We are in space
814 this year, right next to the coffee booth. (Mmmm…) It’s a smaller tent
space this year, 8x8 instead of 10x10, so it was a little interesting at first
to figure out where things were going to go and how to make the booth great, but
I like how it turned out! It’s so great to not be under the main tent because
it’s so much brighter now! I am really liking this new space and I can’t wait
to work again.
After Saturday at the market I met up with
Jonathan and we went to one of my favorite places in Portland, Deschutes
Brewery! Love love loooove their beers and their food is ridiculously good, as
well. I can’t remember what I had (it started with an A) and it was absolutely
amazing, but Jonathan also had an “A” beer, the Andromeda Belgian Ale and it
was SO GOOD. Best Belgian I’ve ever tasted. The food was fabulous, as well, and
I got to meet Gina, the head of social media for the company, and she was super
awesome! Apparently anytime I’ve messaged Deschutes on Facebook or Twitter, she’s
the one I’ve talked to!
Jonathan bought a sweet vintage Blazers sweater on eBay and
wore it to the game for the first time. Some guy told him, “Nice sweater, bro!”
at the end, which was pretty awesome. I need to find a cool vintage Blazers top
and rock it myself. Maybe by the time next season happens, because I’m not sure
we’ll be able to make any other games this season.
After Deschutes we scurried over to the Rose
Garden to watch the Blazers beat the Timberwolves. There were some great plays
throughout the game and we were in the lowest seats we’ve ever sat in, so it
felt fancy, ha ha! We’re usually in the highest row or within a couple rows of
it, so this time it was nice to be a little lower.
Sunday I went back to the market, where it was super slow.
After the market I went to my friends’ house to dog nanny when they went out.
They have six dogs! Two of them are in wheelchairs, so they need someone to be
with them in case they need to go outside or need assistance. They’ve added a
new dog to their mix since I was last there. Her name is Daisy and I think I’m
in love with her! She’s the only little dog there and she was so incredibly
sweet. She’s lucky she went to such a great home!
This morning I began my new commute to work. I plan on walking from home to the MAX station on 82nd and catching the Green Line down to Clackamas Town Center. It’s nice to get some exercise in the mornings and evenings to counteract sitting all day at work! I want to rent a bike locker at one of the MAX stations along the I-205 bike path eventually so I can ride my bike partway to work and then take the MAX the rest of the way. The only difficult part is that with all the house-sitting I have scheduled it will make the bike riding part more of a hassle, so I might just stick with taking transit and just getting in more walking. As long as I’m getting exercise I’m happy!
Overall, my weekend was awesome! How was yours? Did you do
anything awesome, as well?

note to self: must find an awesome blazers sweater half as cool as that one.
ReplyDeleteRight?! It's really funny because the torso part fits perfectly, but the upper arm parts are huge! He's got bingo wings in this, so he just keeps the sleeves pushed up.
DeleteBusy, busy lady! Your weekend sounded like fun! You must live near me.. I hope the MAX works out-- my husband walks to the MAX station near 82nd and takes the green line downtown. Be careful walking near 82nd. It is scary sometimes. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, the shenanigans of 82nd are kinda...interesting sometimes. ;o) I live in between TJs and 82nd (for lack of telling the entire internet where I live). It's closer for me to walk to the 60th MAX station but I have walked that about a million times, so doing this route is a little more interesting right now. I think I'm going to walk to the 82nd station in the morning and walk home from the 60th one, just for something different. I know at the end of the work day I don’t want to walk any extra so the shorter distance will be appreciated!
DeleteThe twins names are too cute!
ReplyDeleteWhen they told me I pretty much died. I haven't met the babies in person yet, but I just can't get over their names!!
