Things To Do in 2013!
It's here! It's here!
I am so happy the new year is here. I have been waiting for it for so long now. It's going to be awesome. There are some things that are happening and are finally able to happen, so that is a good thing.
Jonathan and I didn't get to do a lot of the things we'd hoped to do together last year because I was often working on the weekends while he was off, we didn't have the money to do some things, etc. But this year that changes! I am back to working full time Monday-Friday and that means we now have weekends off to do fun things together.
There are also some things I want to tackle this year:
*Go kayaking with Jonathan. For Christmas he got us Merc-Perks to do the kayaking adventure I mentioned in this post! He is gooood.
*Consolodate my several mutual funds into one fund and set up online banking access.
*Put $3,000 into my mutual fund.
*Keep saving for Antarctica. I technically need to be putting $1,000 a month into my account, but that's not totally feasible, although I will be doing pretty good every month if I keep house-sitting and working side jobs. Having my main job will also be good because that means money will also be going into Jonathan and I's shared savings account.
*Go to counseling with Jonathan. We have a pretty good relationship but there are things we need to work on together to make it even awesomer.
*Figure out how to fit yoga into my weeks now that I am working this job.
*I am in the process of doing my first cleanse! It is 21 days long and I will blog about it soon. I'm loving it so far! If you want to check it out for yourself before then, it's Skylor Powell's Shift Cleanse.
*Read at least 50 books this year. I plan on making a list of all the books I read and would love comments from y'all about books I should read! I downloaded four yesterday!
*Go to the Portland Japanese Garden.
*Get out with Jonathan for something active every weekend, whether it's a walk with Artoo, a bike ride, or a hike, we need to get outside and move!
*Focus more on listening to my inner voice. I get so busy sometimes that I don't have time to think about how I'm really feeling. I need to fix that.
*I need to give myself a little bit of a spending budget to have fun with. I sometimes get really caught up in "I NEED TO SAVE ALL THE MONEY" (see that "$1,000 a month for Antarctica) and then I drive myself crazy because there will be something I want to buy and then I get it and feel bad when I don't put that money into savings. I need to stop being neurotic about this, so I'm giving myself a "fun budget" every month.
*Travel to see friends in other places. Stina and Renai are both relatively close to visit and I saw Renai almost a year ago and Stina I haven't seen in longer! SAD BRITTANY. Now that I have weekends off this will also be easier to do. I would love to someday go visit Kim and Amy, but that might have to happen after the Antarctica trip!
*Try and be a better friend. I think I'm a good friend most of the time, but I think there are areas to improve.
*Figure out my soap situation. I'd love to keep selling it but I need to figure out how to make that happen, if at all. Right now my plan is to use up as much of my supplies as I can and then sell the rest.
*Finish purging all of whatever stuff in the apartment that I want to purge so I can finally be done with that project. I thought I would have time before the end of the year to do it, but then I started house-sitting and working full time and then just haven't had any time at all to do it.
*Ride Eleanor more. I miss her! :o(
*Learn to use my new Canon AE-1 Program!
*Lose 20lbs. I bought a FitBit and an Aria scale to keep me on track. I am a visual person who likes goals (obviously!) so to see graphs and track stuff is my dream. Since I started on December 20 at 131.1lbs I am down to 128.4 as of today!
*Go on one out of town trip a month!
I know there is more I wrote down, but this is good for now. Whew! Lots to think about and do! Looking forward to making these things happen!
Did you make resolutions this year?

LOVE THIS!!! 2013 is going to be amazing for you. That cleanse looks awesome ... I saw they said there were vegan options (I wonder about a vegetarian (not that I couldn't do vegan). Hmmmm ... so tempting. I can't wait to read about your experience!! We hope to adventure with you guys on some of those weekends!
ReplyDeleteThere is a vegetarian option for the cleanse! I'd be happy to tell you about the cleanse on Sunday. I am loving it so far!!
DeleteI like this! :D
ReplyDeleteI am THE WORST at reading (and writing) blogs lately (sorry). In that I have done almost nothing on either end. :|
But this is good! My life needs a re-work. I should write things down, and post them around, and get down to business.
And I would die for a Britt visit :D
XOXOX
I know you're busy and stressed and stuff about life! Yes, definitely write things down. I think that really helps me. It gives me something to focus on, you know? To see it in writing makes it extra meaningful or something.
DeleteI can't wait to visit!!!! Just need to find out when I can!!
