Busy Week!

Hello, friends! Sorry for the blog silence. I have been working a ton the past three days. The other barista and I have switched shifts for the past three days, so I have been getting up (at 4:45am) to be to the coffee shop (5:30am) to open it (6:00am) so that I can get off work at 1:30pm and go clean at my friend's house. She hired me to clean it and it needs a little bit of TLC, so I've been going there every day this week to clean for a few hours. It's starting to look good! I like cleaning and I am happy to help my friend, so it works out. :o)

It does mean I'm pretty tired, though! I haven't had time or energy to go grocery shopping or make food, so I've been buying two meals a day at at the deli next to my work. Bad Brittany! But yesterday  finally made it to the shop and bought some bread, because I had PB and J, but no bread to make sandwiches with! I also got some milk and Annie's White Cheddar and Shells to make food with to stock up on for a few days. I mixed in a bunch of salmon. Pretty tasty!

Yummy! We call it "Annie's with Sammies" at home. :o)

I get this morning "off" and get to work my regular schedule. Heidi had things to do and couldn't switch, which is fine, but I gotta say it's really nice to sleep in on my usual day! I'm very thankful I'm not the usual opener. It's not always easy!

I went to yoga last night for the first time in two months and it was AWESOME!! I have been having a lot of muscular issues and my hip has really, really been hurting a lot. Also, my shoulders are usually really flexible and they have been so stiff that I've had a hard time reversing in my car because I can't turn around easily. Sad! But yoga fixed me up and I'm feeling good! I talked to Steve's sweetie Dru today and I am definitely going to make an appointment to go see her as soon as I can. She is the only dually licensed acupuncturist and chiropractor in the state and she is awesome! I think she will be able to work some magic on my hip. The initial appointment is $175, though, so I'm not totally sure when I'll be able to go visit her, but I think sometime in the next month I can make it happen. And because I've been living with chronic pain for almost two years I am looking forward to this appointment, whenever it will be! (For those that don't know, I fell off a railing and fractured my hip in November, 2009, in Ketchikan while in town for the memorial of a friend who committed suicide. I like to blame my fractured hip on him, because I know he'd give me so much crap about it. ;o)

I hope everyone has been having a great week! I am getting ready to move out to House #6 of house-sitting and then I go to Colorado in just over a week for my nature printing workshop! Crazy!! It's so soon. I hope I am able to get all of my supplies here in town for it. Crossing fingers......

  1. I hope you're able to ease the pain soon. I've started taking yoga classes regularly (wonderfully cheap option at the local community center) and doing it consistently has really helped me with my shoulders and neck (I used to be so stiff I couldn't look over my shoulder either). Any way sending positive vibes from the East Coast.

  2. Thanks for the positive vibes! :o) Yeah, the yoga schedule changed and now it's on Mondays and Wednesdays and I have Monday off, so I'll actually be able to make it to at least one of the days! I can make it to the Wednesday classes, too, if I close the coffee shop quickly. I may be a teeny bit late to those classes, but only ten minutes or so out of an hour and a half long class, so not too bad. I do want to get back into doing it because I usually do it fairly regularly in Portland. Just need to make it a priority again!
