Random Bits and Bobbles
There has been both nothing going on and everything going on lately. It's been a weird past couple of weeks still. I think things are normalling out, though. As of last night, I'm back at home with not much house-sitting before I leave for South America, although I have a few prospects, so hopefully that gets scheduled soon! I have already realized that I'm going to need to take money from my savings to pay for the trip, but I'm still hopeful I start getting more side hustle happening so I don't have to take out much.
Here's some photos I've taken recently:
I got in a bunch of film that I won on eBay to take to South America with me.
After three months of grow-out I got a haircut! I love it!
As of last night we have a dishwasher!! This is our third white droid in the house now. Meet Danby!
Rereading a favorite!
Amy and I had a meeting of Adventurers Who Love Cats & Cocktails.
Jonathan and I took a trip to Hood River. Yummy!
The sky on the way back was gorgeous!
We made me a fabulous bow at work!
A lovely morning, featuring a sharrow.
The trees in Portland have been snowing lately!
I dog-sat for one of my favorites, Mo! Such a cutie!
And that, my friends, sums up some of my life the past couple weeks. This weekend is going to be awesome, though. I will be working for Karina on Saturday and then on Sunday I am going to a Friends of Trees volunteer potluck and going on a Segway tour of downtown with Dana!! I will finally be able to mark "Ride on a Segway" off my bucket list!! I was able to get us Groupons. I'm pretty psyched. We can pretend to be Gob from "Arrested Development." ;o)
What's going on with you?

Sandy River Delta Birthday Outing
Well, yesterday marked the end of my week-long birthday celebration. Oh, what a week it was! Every day brought some sort of exciting event. I would have had nothing less for a milestone birthday! I just wanted to share some pictures from going to the Sandy River Delta on Friday. It was unseasonally warm, in the upper 50s that day. I have heard about the Sandy River area from many people, but have never been there before. I'm so glad we went! It's 1,400 acres of off-leash dog area and it was so fun to explore! We were only able to cover a small amount of ground, so I look forward to going back!
(Pug smiles are pretty much the best. :o)
P.S. Okay, I have some other photos to share, too!
I found an oil slick that looked like a heart!
My limoncello birthday cupcake
The tree art from my friend Todd
This is how I spent my birthday...working at the market! Boots, books, and borscht!
Some lovely ladies went to Hopworks with me for my b-day celebration
My birthday beer from HUB was as big as my head!
And Jonathan got me what I wanted most for my birthday! Snowshoes to replace the ones I finally wore out last year (after seven years of adventuring)!!
This card from Amy just kind of sums everything up. VIVA LA 2013!

Our Five Year Anniversary - First Post: Cheshire!
As I may have mentioned before, October 20 was Jonathan and I's five year anniversary. Whoo hoo! I can't believe five years has gone by, which means also that I have been living four years in Oregon. CRAZY. That is like a whole post in itself.
For our anniversary we went to Cheshire and stayed for a day and a half, visiting his parents, and then went and stayed at a yurt in Newport at the South Beach State Park. It was all super fun! I can't believe I am only just now going through our photos, but I am and that's how life goes, but I thought I'd share some.
I'm going to split photos from our long weekend into two posts because they will be fairly picture heavy. Jonathan's family, as some of you may know, lives in the country on a big plot of land and it's soooo pretty! Artoo and I took a few good walks through the woods and on the fields. That's what this post will be about. After I go through the photos we took in Newport I'll post the rest. (I have a tendency to take one million photos of fish at the Newport Aquarium.)
Enjoy an Oregonian country fall!

What A Weekend!
Whew!
The past three days have been a whirlwind. First, on Friday, I went to my friends' fairy-themed wedding at Peninsula Park Rose Garden. It was beautiful! The weather was perfect. There were costumes. I cried.
Side note: Andi's mom and her MADE her dress! IT. WAS. AMAZING. I can't even fathom being that crafty and awesome. Tony and the boys looked amazing, as well. Oh, man.
Saturday and Sunday were spent working for Karina at the market, which was awesome, as usual. Saturday night Jonathan and I went to Emily's Interesting People Party. I got to catch up with some friends I hadn't seen in awhile and also met some new ones!
Last night I met up with Shana and Co. for her birthday dinner at Deschutes. Again, It Was Amazing! I'm so happy to have such amazing friends!
Rest of my weekend photos...
This weekend was full of fun and friendship and love. I am just so happy about it and am looking forward to this week ahead!
P.S. I am going to go back into "purge mode" today to try and get rid of more stuff. Should be a good time. ;o)
