Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

Guys, GUYS!

I am writing this Thursday night and I really want to tell you all about the awesome evening I had. I just got some art hung that is over a year and a half in the making. I feel like crying happy tears and I'm just overjoyed. But tomorrow is Friday and that is the day that I post all of the awesome stuff I pinned this last week. Heck, I haven't even looked at what I pinned. I'm just excited about tonight. I will definitely blog about it next week. Life is good and things are coming together. Did I mention today that I got our AirBnB places booked that we/I are going to stay in Peru, Chile, and Easter Island in a mere three months? HOLY CRAP, I'm going to South America in three months for three weeks! I'm really frikken excited. I have so much to tell y'all about.

Life is good, guys.

I guess I should settle down and post stuff.

(That top photo was taken on Tuesday night at Hopworks at their five year anniversary party that I went to with Nicolle. I love her. It was awesome. There was a photobooth.)

Okay, you know what? I just looked and I didn't really pin all that much stuff aside from repinning random stuff from other people. I think the most interesting thing is this link and it's pretty awesome. You can see all the things here, though.

Sorry. My mind isn't much into blogging this stuff right now and I have so much exciting other stuff to talk about but I need to do this so I can just do it.

We'll just see you next week. It'll be awesome, I swear.

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

Awww, yeah! It's that time of year!!

Friends, friends, friends, friiiiieeeends!

How's it going?

My week ROCKED. I'm not even sure what I did. It was kind of a blur. The first full week back home after a long time of being gone... let's just say, there is lots of cleaning to do. *ahem* I've been cleaning, organizing, going through things, and plotting how I want our apartment to look. I've even bought some stuff. I KNOW. I don't buy all that much, but I actually have been getting some neat stuff. I need to do a post on what I've gotten and what I'd like to get. So much stuff going on in my mind and just not enough time to get it all out. I feel like I keep saying that, but there is a lot going on that I'm trying to get worked out. This post is kind of a stream-of-consciousness brain blah right now. Life is good, though.

Okey doke, well, it is Friday and that means it's time for a round up of some of the things I pinned this week. Seriously, if you look at my pins, it's about half cool apartment decorating stuff and half cauliflower recipe pins.

Tonight we are heading to visit Jonathan's parents for the weekend!! I am SO excited to see them and sleep in for two days in a row! And eat yummy foods, play outside, and drink champagne with Jonathan's mom! ;o) I hope you all have a great weekend, as well!

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

HOW IS IT FRIDAY AGAIN?!

I refuse to believe a week has passed. This week flew by. Time flies when you're having fun, I guess, right? I am having so much more fun now that I am DONE house-sitting! Although tonight I am going to stay the night with my buddy Chipper so that her mommies can go out of town. She is a sweetheart of an older dog! Love that sweet girl and I haven't seen her since Christmas!

ANYWAY.

Did I mention how thrilled I am to be done house-sitting?

This weekend is a little (lot) crazy, but next week will be back to normal and I will have more blogging time! So many thingssss to share.

For now, here's some of the stuff I pinned this week, but here's all of it!

*Ugly Renaissance Babies - this made me laugh out loud at work.
*"Oh, you are SO lucky, you must be rich!"
*Your Lifestyle Has Already Been Designed
*30 Reasons To Take Up Cycling
*8 Homemade Veggie Burger Recipes

Have a great weekend!

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

This little guy is in "my" neighbourhood right now and makes me smile every time I see it!

My friends, I pinned more this week than I ever have, EVER. I was one of THOSE people on Pinterest. I pretty much flooded my followers with pins. SORRY. I think since I haven't really been home in months that I am dreaming of my apartment and my space. Since Jonathan and I have decided we're going to be living in our apartment for probably a few more years, I might as well decorate it more how I'd like, especially with trying to streamline things and make it more how I'd like.

If you want to check out all of my pins, there is a ton of organic modern decorating stuff happening in there. Here's a small amount of what I actually pinned this week......

*Spinach Egg Cups (made this last night!! So good!)
*Cauliflower Crust Garlic "Breadsticks" (I am changing my blog name to "Pro-Cauliflower Propaganda")
*Dakota Coffee Table (budget version of the table I like at West Elm!)

Have a wonderful weekend! I am going to be meeting an internet friend for the first time, hanging out with the dogs, and then Amy and I will be MEETING LIL BUB!!!!!!! Hope your weekend is as awesome as mine. ;o)

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

Know what is really awesome? Being sick for almost a week. I had to go home early from work twice in the past week, which sucks. But I'm feeling all better now and have pinned lots this week! Now that I have more friends using Pinterest I've been on it more myself. Good times!

Here's some of what I pinned this week (but you can see everything here):

Tomorrow Jonathan and I are going to Astoria on the Brewvana bus to go celebrate Stout Month at the Festival of Dark Arts! We haven't been to Astoria in awhile, so I am really, really looking forward to it. I don't have anything planned for Sunday and then on Monday Amy and I are going to go adventure in Forest Park! Going to be pret-ty awesome, I think!

What are you doing this weekend?

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

Where did this week go?! It was my first week at my "new" job as receptionist for my company and it went well! I think I'm going to enjoy it even more than my last job. I am having a bunch of fun and learning all sorts of things. Huzzah!

Apparently I was busy enough that I hardly pinned anything. You can see everything I pinned here, though!

What's everyone doing this weekend? I'm going to be planting trees in NE Portland with Friends of Trees, dog-sitting seven dogs for a few hours (including one in a wheelchair!!), and wrapping and packaging a LOT of soap to be mailed out on Monday! It's going to be a very busy weekend, but lots of fun!

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

If Charlie were nicer to library patrons, he could have stayed a patron himself.
Let this be a lesson. Don't be a Charlie.

To be honest, I'm not feeling all that well right now, but since I was a jerk and didn't post anything awesome last week that I pinned I really wanted to make sure I put a post together today! I just wish I was feeling better! So enough with the chitchat, this is what I've got for y'all this week. Enjoy!

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week!

What an awesome week! I've been receiving some super cute thank you notes the past couple of weeks from people I house-sat for over the holidays. It makes me so happy to receive such nice, thoughtful things in the mail! This has been a pretty great week overall. I've made some good headway with some of my 2013 resolutions and that makes me feel awesome! I also will get to see my dad tonight, which is great! Tomorrow I will be meeting a new pet-sitting client and then celebrate my friend Fia's birthday!

But! But what did I PIN this week?

*Tommy Edison has been blind since birth and still uses Instagram!
*Most Popular Vegan Recipes From 2012 #30-16 on Oh She Glows
*My 10-Year-Old Christmas Journal is Ridiculous, Y'all

*50 Things To Stop Doing Forever - I'm putting this link separately because it is AMAZING and you need to read it RIGHT NOW. No, really. If everyone did even just five of these things I think life would be better.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

Our first week of January is down! I have already started working on some of my "resolutions" for the year and feel off to a great start. I started my cleanse, worked on my mutual funds, lost a little bit of weight, and started reading more. More to come about this stuff next week! I will say that so far my cleanse has been fairly easy, although I think the detoxing is happening. I have been feeling a little fatigued and cloudy-brained, so I'm looking forward to that going away. More lemon water! More tea!

Without further ado, here are some of the pins I posted this week, but you can see all of them here.

This weekend I am running some errands, which include dropping off some art to get framed, which I am very thankful to have gotten birthday & Christmas money for! On Sunday Jonathan and I are going snowshoeing with our friends Ravyn and Jim!!! I get to try out my new snowshoes! Needless to say, I am VERY excited. What are you doing this weekend?

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

This is Dixie, one of the kitties I am house-sitting. She is very sweet, but doesn't like her picture taken next to the Christmas tree. ;o)

It was a great week. It was a busy week. I am exhausted, but happy. I love my new job. I love other peoples' pets. Life is good. More about things later, when I'm getting more than four hours of sleep at a whack (not kidding, I'm tracking it now! More about that later.).

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

I must have drug Jonathan on too many impromptu adventures since he responds to my text with THIS. Ha ha ha!!

And what? Yes! Here's some of the awesome stuff I pinned this week! (Not so much for some reason?)

*Books That Will Inspire You by Tammy of Rowdy Kittens

This has been a great week. I have been sleeping wonderfully for some reason. Whatever it is, I'll take it! I wake up on my own around 6am, full of energy and ready to get started with my day! Which is awesome because... I have a new job!! This job pays well, is Monday through Friday 8-5pm, has benefits, etc. I am SO excited to have a full time job again AND have weekends off! I have been waiting for a job like this for 14 months now! I'm excited that Jonathan and I will finally have days off together again and if I feel like working at the market, great! If not, no big deal! I will also be able to put money directly into savings and I'm going to start an IRA. I am pretty excited to start working! The only "negative" thing that I can see so far is that I will be taking transit to work (which I am thankful for because it's better for the environment, it's waaaay cheaper than driving every day, and I won't have to be a driver for 45 minutes a day) and that will take an hour each way. But I'm trying to think of it as a time for me to read.

Are you excited about anything in particular this week? Let me know in the comments!

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

Bad blogger Brittany.

Last week on this day I went with my dad and grandma up Mount St. Helens and it was GORGEOUS! Have I blogged any of those gorgeous photos? Nope, not yet. The rest of this week I've still been house-sitting and have managed to work a bit, too. I've been feeling a little bit under the weather, as well, so I'm hoping that goes away. I haven't been sleeping well the past week and a half or so and my brain feels tired and bleh. I will be completely done house-sitting on Tuesday, which I am really looking forward to. I can't wait to go home, sleep in my own comfy bed, be around my own stuff, and get my life back into its normal routine.

Anyhoo, here's some of the stuff I pinned this week!

*How To Let Go of Your Books - this was as scandalous post on my FB!
*The Best Way to Get Rid of Blackheads? Baking Soda! - Sonya's post sharing how great baking soda is for exfoliation was a big hit! Want some other ideas of what you can do with baking soda? How about make your own toothpaste or perhaps polish your jewelry?

This weekend is going to be busy. I'll be working for Amy at the Saturday Market on Saturday and Karina on Sunday. Plus, Hopwork's Biketobeerfest is tomorrow and I shall be attending after I get completely done with work. My day will start very early tomorrow, so I am already looking forward to beer and food (free because I'm a Mug Club member!).

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

This picture has nothing to do with anything, but it was at my friends' house I just finished house-sitting and it made me laugh every time I saw it, so I am sharing it with you today.

Thank you to everyone who gave me positive feedback on this post. I had quite a few friends talk to me about things and it was really awesome. So thanks! In other YAY! news I am now officially at $8,000+ saved for my Antarctica trip, although the money won't actually post for a few days and so my little counter over at the left still says I'm in the $7k range. But I'm not! Woooo hoo! Thank you to everyone this month who is letting me house-sit and work for them! It's so great!!

Today I'm hanging out with my dad and grandma again, which should be fun. Not sure what we're going to do, but should be a good day. I love hanging out with my family!

This morning I booked my tickets to go to Ketchikan for several weeks! I'll be gone from August 27-September 24. Thanks to Jonathan for holding the fort down and taking care of Artoo while I'm galivanting in Alaska! (And by galivanting I mean working full time and playing outside. Yeeeaaah!)

I hope everyone has a great weekend! What are you all doing?

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

All I have to say is What. A. Week. It's been very relaxing with not having to work but today is my first day back. I have spent a lot of time reading, internetting, and lots of bike riding this past week. I've ridden Eleanor an average of 10 miles a day for the past few days! It's been feeling pretty awesome. We had to get our car worked on to the tune of about $2,000 and it's been in the shop since Monday. While I'm NOT looking forward to taking that money out of our savings account, I'm thankful that we both have enough money to pay the bill (and are frugal enough to save for awhile to put a good amount of money back into savings) and that we have a running car that works when we need it! (Just keeping it that way! :o)

I picked up three more rolls of film from Hollywood Camera yesterday and have more film pictures to share next week. I hope you enjoy them! Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy some of the things I pinned this week!

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

I'm posting this a little later than I anticipated, but I haven't had as much free time this past week. I am currently house-sitting for these two cutey little stinkers. That's Penny on the left. She's a chihuahua/min-pin mix. Lulu is on the right, and she's a dachshund. We've been having a pretty good time! I brought a bunch of things over to this house from our apartment that I want to try and sell on CraigsList, so that's taken up a bit of time with all the picture-taking, listing things, etc. I've had a few bites on things and am supposed to meet up with some people on Sunday, so crossing fingers I make some moolah!

This weekend should be pretty fun. My dad is coming this afternoon to pick me up and then we're going to head to Vancouver, WA, to visit my grandma, who I haven't seen in a couple of years. Then tomorrow my dad and I (maybe grandma, too) are going to go on an Oregon Coast adventure! There is talk of Ecola Seafoods for lunch, Cape Lookout, and Cape Meares lighthouse (which has the cool Octopus Tree!). Sounds like a great couple of days to me!

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

This week was pretty great and there's more greatness to come. My hours at work got changed from four four-hour chunks of time every week into working open to close Tuesdays and Thursdays by myself. It's been AWESOME. It feels good being able to finish projects and start new ones and know that I have a large chunk of time to do them in. I've been able to do some deep-cleaning in the shop this week, which is also pretty cool. I hope the shop owners think I am doing a good job, because I'd love to continue doing this!

I also had a great first interview that I mentioned here and will be called back for a second interview soon! I have high hopes I get this job, which would be a great addition to the job I have now. Crossing fingers!

This weekend is going to be busy but full of greatness. Today I am going to my first dentist visit in a year and a half. I am SO excited to qualify for insurance again and I am paying a little extra every month so that I have the option to go to the dentist I was seeing before. Seriously, best dental office EVER. I love them! Then tonight I get to see one of my best friends and her amazing, wonderful, totally great fiance get married!! Andi was originally one of my managers when I worked at Hot Topic (oh, yeah, baby!) the first time I lived in Portland, back in 2001-2002. We have been friends ever since and I have loved being a part of her life! I remember when she first told me about Tony...and then they went on their first date...and then they moved in...and then they proposed! I love him, too! They are absolutely wonderful together and I am just thrilled to pieces that they are getting hitched. YAY! (I also get to house-sit for their three cats when they're on their vacation. I have always been considered as the cats' "Auntie Brittany" and Artoo knows Andi as "Auntie Andi." It's adorable.)

Saturday and Sunday I will be working Karina's booth at the Saturday Market and then Saturday night is Emily's "Interesting People Party," which I've been looking forward to for quite some time now! Sunday night will then be Safety Meeting at Hopworks. Lots of excitement going on in the next few days! Not quite sure what next week will bring yet but I've got high hopes. What are YOU doing this weekend?

Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week

Yeah, I thought I'd start off my new Friday series of "Awesome Stuff I Pinned This Week" with two totally awesome pictures of me from when I was younger. Sadly, that picture on the right is when I was 13. Oh, so sad. Now you see why I keep my hair in a pixie. Bad things happened when I was younger. *shudder*

If you want, you can follow me on Pinterest and get the first scoopie on the cool stuff I might find. Or you could "like" this blog's fan page. Yeehaw!

I hope everyone is doing something fun this weekend! I found out last night that we're going camping with friends on Government Island tomorrow night, which is exciting, because I didn't think we were going to end up camping this year! Too much weird life stuff going on. But we ARE and I have a new swim suit, darn it.

Have fun and be careful, all!

Blog Posts I've Enjoyed Lately

It's another episode of "Blog Posts I've Enjoyed Lately"!

*How To Make a Salve with Infused Oils - Common Sense Homesteading
I've been wanting to learn more about infusing oils and this tutorial is super easy! I really cannot wait to try this.

*10 Albums Every Lady Should Own and Reply - Yes & Yes
I have three of them. What about you?

*Collecting: Hobby or Money Pit? - Fabulously Broke in the City
Things I apparently collect are beach glass pieces (that I display in vintage Ball jars), feathers found on the ground, and neat shells. Luckily, this doesn't take up much space in our little apartment and seeing this nature stuff makes me happy. As my minimalist tendencies have been evolving, I'd like to think I am better about getting rid of stuff. One of the things I currently have on display in our apartment is a collection of vintage pharmaceutical bottles. If anyone out there collects anything like that I got some nifty stuff for you! (Last year people decided that I collected owl stuff and, while I like owls, I got a big influx of stuff with owls on it. This year: no room, people! Please, no owl stuff for birthdays and Christmas! I have always liked ravens better anyway. ;o)

*Peach Jam Two Ways: Peach Vanilla and Fuzzy Navel - Common Sense Homesteading
I want to eat both of these straight from the jar. Maybe on a biscuit with some cream poured on top.

*DIY: Make Your Own Custom Perfume - Girlie Girl Army
Hello!! I gave away my bottle of Anna Sui Original perfume, my most favorite perfume ever. Using mass-produced perfumes isn't good for you and contain a lot of chemicals. That doesn't mean I don't miss spritzing on a scent that I love. (I'll always have you in my memories, Anna Sui.) The idea of making my own eco-friendly custom perfume rocks! Definitely trying this when I'm back home.

*I Find What Happy Women Get Right - Sarah Wilson

*14 Days - Rowdy Kittens
Tammy and her hubby are having a tiny house built, which I think is so awesome. They officially get to move in in two weeks. This is what she is excited about!

*Looking Ahead: 2012 Calendars - Re-Nest
I have mentioned before about how hard it is to find the perfect calendar, so it made me happy to see some of these and remind myself that the big 2012 calendar search is about to begin!

Thanks for reading my summary of some blog posts I've been enjoying lately! I hope you found something you enjoyed. :o) What posts are you enjoying?
