Kayak Racks, Soap, and Water Problems: Wednesday Night's Shenanigans
Yesterday I ended up ordering my new base rack for my car and then the kayak rack for that. The kayak I'm going to buy from my friend is really going to happen!!
I ordered this rack from Backcountry (via Amazon):
Image via Backcountry.
I like that it "holds onto" the kayak with the little J part and then what I really like is that the top parts fold down.
The kayak I'm getting from my friend is a Necky Manitou 13. Woo woo! You'll have to click the link to see what they look like, but isn't it pretty?? The one I'll be getting is green. I can't wait!
This is what one of the main things I have been researching online. It takes extra time because I am using an ethernet cord for my computer and the internet is verrrryyyyyy sllllooooowww here, but I am just happy to even HAVE internet here!! This means I haven't really been keeping up on blogs lately and I have also had a lot going on here, so if you've emailed me or messaged me and you haven't heard back yet, know that you will be getting a response, but I just haven't had a chance to do it yet.
With that being said, let me now upload (very slowly) some photos of my evening last night. I got a ton of things done!
I wrapped a bunch of soap in the new origami paper I got on eBay. I think it turned out super cute!
I picked up my Full Circle Farms box and put my veggies away in my tiny fridge.
I made a double batch of Renai's Pinecone.
I learned how to change the filters in the two water filters for the house.
These filters. Slightly messy project. Rusty water isn't fun.
After I turned the water off there was still quite a bit of water dripping out. I was so thankful when it stopped!
I made a batch of Dolly Varden, one of my #1 Top Seller soaps!
I had everything loaded up in the dishwasher and was SO EXCITED about this part. I did not grow up with a dishwasher (except for the hands attached to me) so whenever I get to use one is pretty exciting. (The things you people may take for granted. ;o) The dishwasher got the thumbs up UNTIL IT WENT THROUGH A WHOLE WASH CYCLE AND I REALIZED NO WATER WAS FLOWING. Grrrrrrr!!!! So now I have to get ahold of Steve to see if he can tell me why there is no water flowing. Major dinosaur arms!
I calmed down after the dishwasher incident and decided to take a picture of my cute little limes and avocado that were in my Full Circle Farms box. I need to pick up some tonic next time I'm in town so I can make vodka tonics with my little limey friends. Yum!
Tonight I am hoping to make it to yoga, even if I am a little late, due to having to close the coffee shop and Steve being gone. On Thursdays he had told me that I could leave right at 5 and he would worry about doing the actual closing of the shop so that I could make it into town by 5:30pm, so we'll see if I can do it! I need the yoga!
And that, my friends, has been what is going on! I am excited for yoga tonight, the Monthly Grind on Saturday night, going to Myurgen's house on Sunday evening, and then a massage by the wonderful Bonnie of Rx Massage on Monday after work. There is always something to do in Ketchikan!

yay full circle!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWe have that same rack and love it! Hmmm... do you think the dishwasher issue is somehow related to the changing of the house water filters? Is the rest of the house water working? Strange!
ReplyDeleteThe dishwasher wasn't working before, even though I found the breaker for it, so I figured it must be the water. I knew the filters needed to be changed because the water pressure in my shower would fluctuate between mostly okay and tiny dribble while I was showering, which isn't totally okay. :o) I just assumed the dishwasher would be fine, but, boy, was I surprised! My shower this morning was awesome, though! Yeah, the rest of the house water is totally fine, so this is a little confusing for me. I emailed Steve to see if he has any guidance for me, so hopefully I hear back from him.
