If you don't you'll be alone and like a ghost I'll be gone

Our car radio is fixed! I'm so happy. It's so nice to have the option to listen to the radio again. I like that it's covered by our original Progressive claim so we didn't even have to pay for it to get fixed. YAY!

Our search for a dehumidifier yesterday did not work out. I had a chance to do a little more research on them and it turns out we would need a low temperature dehumidifier because it's so cold in our apartment. I hate to spend so much money on something that we're only going to need a few months of the year, but places in our apartment get so gross. The back part of the apartment gets so damp-feeling. I don't want things to get moldy. It starts smelling weird. We have opened boxes and totes and found a few things to be moldy. Anyway, enough about our mold problems!

After our search for the dehumidifier we headed home and completely cleaned the apartment. Jonathan did all of the windowsills (mold) and I did laundry, cleaned the bathroom, and dusted. We got a lot of stuff put away. I'm really happy with the amount of cleaning we did. Some stuff got done that I had been wanting to be cleaned for a long time and now I don't have to worry about it. Whoo hoo!

I'm really excited about going grocery shopping today. Over the next two weeks I'm going to make chicken hash, chili, turkey tot casserole, salmon cakes, sockiyaki, and a pesto zucchini dish, among other things. I don't think we need to pick up too much at the grocery store, so that's nice.

On Friday I went to REI and picked up this SmartWool shirt (in purple) and skirt (in black). I don't think I've taken the shirt off since. It is WARM and AWESOME. Trust me. You need one, too. If I could wear wool every day when it's cold out I would. I'm working on that.

What's everyone else up to this weekend?

  1. Oh I get so jealous of the places you get to shop. AND Powell's is there...I get teary just thinking of the science fiction amazingness there. My weekend has been crazy busy - but the rest of today is dedicated to writing and playing Barbies. I am sooooo cool.

  3. Those dishes sound delicious. I love people who get creative with cooking. It's an art-form that's appealing 'cause you can eat the results.

I'd enjoy seeing you post about making them, if you want. I always pick up valuable tips that way.

I used to put these pictures up on my regular FB profile but I think people were getting tired of seeing so many food pictures. :o)
